My Training background.

From California to Texas to Florida, my educational background has prepared me for a career in counseling. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University and continued on to earn my masters of science degree in counseling from California State University, Fullerton. I engaged in clinical work with children, adolescents, and adults in a community mental health clinic. I worked with a diverse population presenting with anxiety, depression, personality disorders, bipolar, schizophrenia, and OCD. My research project considered the role of yoga in therapy and its influence in helping women develop positive body images. After graduating, I pursued a career in the treatment of eating disorders where I gained experience at the residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient levels of care at Center for Discovery and Oliver Pyatt Centers.

More about me.

My journey to therapeutic work was not so linear. Completing a bachelor’s degree in economics, it wasn’t until my first personal experience with therapy where I found my true passion. Understanding human behavior, connecting the past with the present, and helping others heal energizes me and fulfills me. My holistic approach comes from my personal experience in healing and learning more about myself. Movement, nutrition, relationships, thoughts, and feelings are all intertwined in our wellness and the mind-body connection. In my experiences with others in the therapeutic relationship, I not only help you, but you also help me as well! We are all working to live our most authentic, joyful lives which is facilitated through connection and perspectives.
